His wifes surname is said to be Burras. Where he came from and where

Thomas purchased 68 acres in Ohio County, KY in 1808, and purchased 20
acres 2 rood and 20 poles of land in Ohio Co., KY in 1810. Neighboring
land was owned by Bryant, Bennett, Barnett, James Baird, and Benton.
The 1810 Ohio Co., KY Census uner Thomas Bryan shows a man over 45,
one woman age 26 to 45, one girl age 10 to 16, one boy 10 to 16 and
3 boys 0 to 10 were listed. The 1820 Ohio Co., KY Census under Thomas

In the will of Thomas Briant, dated July 28, 1835, he left his son,
William, his plantation and all of his property including his waggon &
gear. The other children each received one dollar. No mention was made
of John T. Bryant in the will. Witnesses were Benjamin Benton and
Jeffries Bennett. The will was proven on Aug. 10, 1840. It is doubtful
he would have referred to 88 acres as a plantation. More likely he
owned more land in the area, likely the 1200 acres on N Fork of Rough
Creek mentioned above.
